Any list that doesn't put Johto dead last is objectively wrong. The loop in that region linking Violet City to Goldenrod and Ecruteak completely screwed up its level curve for the rest of the game.

realeight is great mixed with guitar rig, and for a good bass I'd go for something from kontakt's factory library - if I find some good free soundfonts for slap bass I'll let you know. also FL Studio ...
