I'm thinking start with Gen 2 and then maybe find like Gen 1 later? I personally like that the Gen 2 starters are all monotype, and designed together, as opposed to mixing monotype starters,

Aim is for it to be semi-Linear. This would ideally be improved by a dynamic level generation routine. The starting point is in the bottom left, and the Pokemon league in the top right.

Cool! Using real-world locations as a region basis I think makes them feel more natural, and it should inspire plenty of areas and events.

Yeah! It's also making me think of a smaller pokedex of about 200-250 that is made of Pokemon that would make sense in the region. Of course it's not a carbon copy as the left hand side of the map below the desert should actually be freezing cold and it's a bit hard to represent that really.

There was a button that when you went into the Bag it showed you your most recently used item to use it more quickly.
